am sure you've read our dear tomato's english translation of the JOB notice on quilt. yea, not only will the ending epi of the WLS anime have 'live action' by live actors, they're even gonna be organizing so-called official tour packages to let fans watch the filming.you know, i'm of mixed emotions about this whole thing...
first, let's talk about the inclusion of the live action into the anime. i will be the first to confess that i ain't an anime or manga fan, and i don't watch these things. now assuming this is something that's not done before, then i guess we should be happy(?) with this bold breakthrough decision?or should i just go with my heart which is actually telling me this is a blatant and thinly-disguised effort to 'please' bae-fans and WLS fans.i don't live in japan, and i've no idea how the ratings and response to the WLS anime are... any japanese sisters care to share?
from what little i've read and gathered online, it seems like alot of us were expecting that the anime series wouldn't be repeating everything the WLS drama was. granted, it's perfectly acceptable and logical that the initial epis would be re-telling the WLS abit, so that the new viewers can follow, and yea, it's also kindda expected that there'll be flashbacks through the anime series.so has that been the way i'd imagined it to be? the last thing i hope to see/hear is that the anime series has been re-telling the WLS drama story, lock, stock and barrel. then really, what's the point? i had thought that the anime series is to tell the missing stories in the missing three years after jun sahng had left for the states, and before he had returned to oedo in korea... does anyone care to share their thoughts on the WLS anime series if you've watched it?and... on a second note, about the tour package...sighs, seems to go back to my ranting posts earlier. the only time we hear from, or rather about wuri yong joon is usually through his agency or the 'sales and marketing arm' of keyeast trying to sell the fans something. unfortunately they've just proven my point yet again. yea, after the book, the photo album, now they're selling us the fan packages... here, read tomato's translation...source: JOB

Winter Sonata Anime's Ending Scene to Be Live-Actionposted on 2010-01-29 17:25 ESTOriginal stars to film new sequence that was not in original Korean TV drama
The Nikkan Sports newspaper is reporting on Saturday that the ending scene for the ongoing Winter Sonata anime television series will be filmed in live-action. Yong Joon Bae and Ji Woo Choi, the stars of the 2002 live-action Korean television drama that inspired the anime, will appear in the new live-action footage when it runs on April 24. The new ending in the 26th episode will cover a part of the story that was not in original Korean drama.
Both the original drama and the 26-episode anime follow a girl named Yu Jin Jung (Choi) and her male classmate Joon Sang Kang (Bae) as tragedy and angst befalls them and those around them in the years between high school and young adulthood. The 2004 Japanese broadcast of the drama triggered the ongoing "Korean wave" of pop culture in Japan and turned Bae into a superstar among Japanese female viewers. The Japanese publisher Ohzora Publishing Co. eventually imported and translated the drama's manhwa adaptation under the title Winter Love Song.
Bae had already agreed to reprise his role for the anime's voice cast, as part of the 2007-2008 deal that gave his Key East company's production credit for the anime. Choi agreed to join the voice cast shortly thereafter.

it's strange how things link and relate sometimes...whilst wuri yong joon was the 'poster boy of CFs' at one point when he was in his 20s, one could say the same thing's happening with leader, my current other obsession. but i'll say leader's alot more comfortable in front of the camera and he poses alot more naturally than wuri yong joon, who's still incredibly self-conscious and shy despite all these years in showbiz. but but but, in a way, this kindda endears him to us... but the princess will confess that she often wishes he would just loosen up during photoshoots and do those naturally and subtly sexy poses with those killer bedroom eyes...
you know, abit like how SJS did for dressedtokill....?
me thinks leader can do those.... although he's still not as smooth and sensuous as SJS, but at least he can look smoldering and he can try to look like he's really all tangled up in those sexual vibes with the female model... i just wanna see wuri yong joon do at least ONE series of ads like that. would be so H.O.T.anyway, leader usually does great shots. until i saw a recent HOTSUN SERIES.... goodness, he looked so 'posey' that images of wuri yong joon doing those LOTTE ads that i used to dislike so much started to surface in my head! yup, i only just blogged about it over at the other blog a few days ago....and... strangely... today i went over to FLARE's BLOG and saw that for whatever reason, she has recently uploaded and shared an old LOTTE making clip! keke, did she know i needed the clip to show how 'posey' wuri yong joon was during that time?! or... you can click HERE to download the clip.

you know, i've always thought the HWA concept would work, and if he wants to globalise korean food culture, perhaps HWA is an easier concept to launch the world over, as compared to the pricier, trickier and more elaborate gosireh.
gosireh is rich in contents and culture and all that jazz, no doubt, but it's not everyday food. and it's not something that everyone will like at the first taste. you know, i feel to a lot of people, korean food is abit of an acquired taste. but with the HWA concept, it's made the food easier for the non-koreans to embrace. (*bb: incidentally, HWA means fire...)anyway, seems like despite not fronting the lotte brand for years already, wuri yong joon is still working fairly closely with the lotte people(?) this second HWA outlet is located at the lotte hotel at Tokyo-to Sumida-ku Kinshicho, and is slated to open in early april.have gotten the details from tomato, thanks!Gosireh hwa, Kinshicho branch to open on 6 April.address; 4-6-1 Kinshi, Sumida-Ku, Tokyo4th floor, Lotte City Hotel Kinshichobusiness hours; 11:00 - 24:00reservation; detailed info will be updated on HP.

another one that's reposted from THAT OTHER BLOG OF MINE. decided to repost this coz it's sort of relevant. am putting up pics of some of the more established artiste management agencies in south korea. SM entertainment and JPY entertainment are probably two of the biggest names in terms of the k-pop music scene.
SM entertainment, despite all the negative rumours and stuff, has churned out some of the best singing talents in the country. H.O.T., shinhwa, BOA.... DBSK (although embroiled in the contract troubles now...) are all from SM.JYP entertainment... well, we bae-fans should know JYP, ya? i've blogged about that chap quite a few times. yup, he - park jin young - was the man behind rain and wonder girls. and yup, yup, the same man wuri yong joon's supposed to do that dream high production with. btw i would suppose you've read about the production supposedly starting early this year, ya? one other biggish name to learn would be JYP entertainment, yes of the same JYP fame.his name is actually park jin young, but since he’s supposedly gone international and is very global in outlook, he’s adopted the western way of names, surname is last name, so therefore last name’s to be placed AFTER first name. so park jin young is Jin-Young Park, aka JYP. yes, that’s the company that created and catapulted wonder girls to such fame.yup, these are the JYP pics…!

haven't been updating this blog for awhile. sorry...
for those of you who are also leader fans, you might think i've been updating loads over there.... well, yes and no. i did spend abit more time over there, but mostly, i was actually busy with some other things. i've committed that i will spend more time blogging here, and i will do that. this is just a transition period. once i've gotten the leader forum up, i will do more blogging here, k?
coz with the forum, hopefully alot of the contents will be user-generated and thus i won't have to blog as frequently... besides that blog has got not just me, there're two other gals co-authoring the blog together with me, so logically the 'responsibility' of having to blog more regularly ain't as heavy.in any case, i hope to be able to BLOG WITHOUT OBLIGATION. serious! me believes that that's the better way to go, and it's also way more sustainable, and of course, loads more enjoyable for the blogger.i've read all of your comments as and when they're posted. i know i've said this umpteen times already, but no harm saying it again, ya? you never know who might have missed your posts. well, my blog settings are done up such that every single comment my blogders leave me will be sent to me in the complete form by way of an email. so i never ever miss reading a comment, even if they're made to the older posts.and yes, i'm aware that one of those nuts is still stalking my blog and has left silly remarks like how i've come to my senses and that she's happy for me. now i wish SHE would come to her senses and realise (finally!) that she's overstayed her welcome. in fact, she was never ever welcome. don't understand why some people have such thick hides that they don't know when they're not wanted. and worse if they're ill-mannered and not know how to behave. this is my blog. be nice, or leave.go bother someone else, or go see a doctor. you obviously need help, if you have to stalk the blog of someone whose doing you don't even agree with and you actually feel so compelled to have to leave a comment when you jolly well your comments are not at all welcomed. what's wrong with you? don't have a life? don't have friends? don't have your own blog? or worse, have a blog and no one goes there? tsk tsk... i had a fab outing with some leader fans last saturday evening. i'd blogged about it on THE LEADER BLOG. thought i'll just repost the whole account here, lock stock and barrel. keke, after all, you gals are the ones who often say you do enjoy reading my ramblings about food, ya?okie, the story (reposted part) starts now! oh, wait...! as said, there're three bloggers to the leader blog, and my other two 'partners-in-crime' are emz and miyo. since i'm the pink princess, i sorta refer to the other two as princesses as well. emz is the turquoise princess, and miyo the purple one. hee, you will need to know this in order to 'follow the story'...*************************************************hee, this is overdue, but i’d enjoyed myself much much saturday night… so even though this post’s alittle late in coming, i still wanna post it. wanna share my joy.now some of you might know that the turquoise one had blogged about THE PINK ONE’s BIRTHDAY earlier this month. well, didn’t want anyone to feel obligated to congratulate me, celebrate for me, or buy me gifts or meals, so i’m hardly the sort to tell people my date of birth. as said before, had kindda ’successfully’ sidestepped the issue for years since i started blogging… but emz had let the cat of the bag in less than two months after this new blog started.but emz, don’t worry about it.no need to feel bad about telling, k? not a biggie. and in any case, what’s done is done, cannot be undone. and it’s not like it’s a bad thing or anything even remotely bad… except that there’s no denying that the pink princess has aged, slowly but surely…it was originally intended to be a belated birthday gathering for me, i think… but coz i absolutely hate those ‘get the waiters to bring out the cake singing’ type of stuff, so i had told my bestie to please please please tell the other gals not to make a big fuss out of the gathering. let it be just a gathering amongst friends.went to BRUSSELS SPROUTS coz the princess had been wanting to try it ever since i’d heard a good friend swear by their mussels. me love love love a good plate of ‘clammy’ delights! the food’s really not half-bad…!click HERE to read the

HERE. well, each of us was supposed to wear on us (at least) one visible thing on us that’s black, and hopefully, no one else in the party had also chosen to do that same thing in black. if you’re wearing a pair of black heels and someone else too was wearing black heels, then both of you would have to be ‘punished’…!i thought and i thought and i thought… had quite a few ideas, thought about wearing fake eyelashes in black, wearing a black temporary tattoo… and the princess eventually decided on…. THIS!
keke, i had used a black liquid eyeliner to draw a st★r on my face! i reckon no one else would do that, so i should be very ’safe’…!but i wish i had seen HyunA’s pic earlier though… how come it didn’t occur to me to draw my star like hers?! it’s nicer, ya? maybe next time when we’ve leader gatherings or if we organize anything relating to this leader fanblog, i could do this! please pretty please give the pink princess a chance to try this?nice hor?
true enough, no one else drew anything on their faces, or any part of themselves for that matter…emz was ‘brave’…! she had worn a black cardigan (but she removed it when we proceeded to the dinner after meeting up to chat abit over coffee in the afternoon), and also black leggings. she was also carrying a black handbag and also wearing a black beaded necklace! so much black!hee, i thought miyo didn’t try hard enough… in fact, when she showed up to meet us, she didn’t even yet have anything black on her yet. and eventually, we realised that she had brought along a black beaded bracelet to wear during dinner for the game. chey…me thought half the party was not ‘adventurous’ enough… other than miyo’s black beaded bracelet, may was wearing a bracelet watch with abit of black accent, agnes was wearing a black beaded necklace (which led to emz IMMEDIATELY removing her own necklace at the restaurant, haha!)…karen just turned up like how she normally would dress. ya, she came in practically all black! she wore black pantsuit, complete with black high heeled shoes! keke, or maybe instead of saying she’s unadventurous, i should say she’s brave… like emz, she too had lots of black! and sometimes, the seemingly dangerous route turns out to be the safest! yea, none of us wore a black outfit to dinner that night, except karen! hee, maybe the princess should have just worn one of her many many many black dresses to dinner that night!i had hoped that the ‘black magic’ game would inspire us to be a tad more creative and compel us to think of something that we don’t usually do…but but but… my bestie put on one of those feathery hairclip thingy that’s all the rage for awhile now… hee, i was so tempted to buy those tiny tophats too!and… kadd, oh the ever-so-sporting kadd! she came… in a BLACK WIG! actually i had sorta thought she might turn up in black leggings or black nail polish, haha! gotta say the black wig totally surprised me!
emz had gone to meet me earlier that afternoon and we had quite abit of fun dreaming up the punishments! here are some ’samplings’…- shout ‘I LOVE LEADER’ at the top of your lungs at the main road along mohd sultan;- go ask for the name of the handsomest food server or diner at the restaurant;- dress like how leader did at the next gathering (must bring leader’s photo to show which look you’re emulating);- dress in an outfit that’s a 360-degree change from your usual look at the next gathering;- share your most embarrassing incident (if we don’t find it embarrassing enough, we shall create one for you right there, right now);- find a partner amongst us, convince her to do something together with you to make us all laugh;- buy a round of coffee for us all after dinner;- tell each one of us what you like most about us;- come in a pair of different-coloured socks at the next gathering;- be the game-master for the next gathering;- order an alcoholic drink of OUR choice and gulp it down, one shot;- it’s your lucky night, no penalty!emz and i were just giggling and laughing at starbucks as we wrote out the punishments and rolled up the slips of paper.anyway, here’s a pic of us gals at brussels sprouts. happy shots are created only with happy people!

now don’t ask me why… but somehow everyone ended up with a pressie that night! thanks, agnes!!she got everyone a little something! and what struck me as i went around the table admiring everyone’s pressie was… that agnes had picked out all our gifts with us in mind. that’s nice, i could see the personal touch in the gifts. and keke, how on earth agnes had managed to find so many star-themed accessories remains a major mystery to me!and… ladies, i really really really don’t need pressies…
although they do make me happy and i do like the stuff that you gals have gotten for me, your company is already a fab enough present for me, k? so next year, please please please do not buy me anything. just buy me dinner and drinks, haha!me love love love all the princessy accents on the gifts. may, don’t think i didn’t notice the lovely pinkish stickers and how you’d written out the princess in pink! thank you thank you thank! the cellphone strap’s really nice and is really something that i would possibly pick out if i were to choose something from that label myself. and geez, how on earth did you know i need a bookmark?!
kadd, the handmade card’s the best-est! i even brought it along to ’show off’ to the rest of the gals yesterday! i didn’t let them read the handwritten message, but i definitely ’showed off’ the pink princessy touches and omo, that black skull sticker with multi-coloured stars?!!so gals… next time, pressies not required, handmade cards with looooooong messages are fab enough, hehe!btw, me been looking for a gold-accented bag charm for awhile already… so, keke!
and oh, here’s a pic of the food at dinner on saturday.i think i speak for everyone when i say we all love two of the dishes particularly! we love love love love love the imperiale mussels and also the free-flow of fries that comes with every order of a bucket of mussels!now brussels sprouts is supposedly a casual belgium beer cafe. guess what the imperiale mussels are?!! it’s actually mussels in chicken herbal soup! the soup’s so nice that we were literally trying our darnedest to scoop out every single drip of the goodness till the last drop!the fries’ great too! it’s really free flow…! the fries go so nicely with the mayo dip! soooooo… sinful! it’s great to have girlfriends to get fat with, haha!
after dinner, we still didn’t wanna call it a night yet… so we proceeded to have coffee and cake at TCC nearby. more pics!hee, don’t miss checking out how happy agnes looked dishing out the ‘black magic punishment’ on may…! may’s a good sport and ‘acted’ convincingly well that it hurt, haha!
all in, it was a fab night with fab company. thanks for the memories, gals!and… thanks, leader, for bringing together a bunch of new galfriends for us all.
