Fans of Kim Hyun Joong and the Korean idol group SS501 who have been waiting to meet them for a long time will have their dreams come true this time!

Warner Music Malaysia disclosed in their online diary that the company is currently preparing for SS501's one and only autograph session on 3rd September.

Kim Hyun Joong, who has gained much popularity with his role as one of the F4, Yoon Ji Hoo, in the Korean version of Boys Over Flowers (aka Meteor Garden), is part of the boy-band SS501 who sang Because I'm Stupid from the drama OST, and the band also enjoyed escalated popularity due to this.

The said drama achieved extremely high viewership in Korea, and this F4 phenomenon has spread across Asia and stirred up a huge interest to watch this drama. Other than Lee Min Ho who starred in the role of Gu Jun Pyo (Domyoji) who became wildly popular, Kim Hyun Joong who played the character Yoon Ji Hoo (Rui Hanazawa) also enjoyed the same level of popularity as Lee Min Ho.


SS501 is the hottest idol band in Korea right now; the five members include leader Kim Hyun Joong, Heo Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Jong, Park Jung Min and Kim Hyung Joon. There was already rumours previously that Malaysia could potentially be one of the stops of SS501's current concert tour, and fans have been looking forward to it excitedly.

Warner Music Malaysia had brought the good news for the fans earlier on their online diary, disclosing that if everything goes on smoothly, then SS501 will be coming to Malaysia for their one and only autograph session on 3rd September.

Based on the understanding of Guang-Ming-Entertainment, when SS501, who are eager to meet Korea on 3rd Septemer, have been fighting for the chance for their company to allow them to take the transit opportunity to squeeze out a few hours to have a short meeting with their fans.

The reporter has sought for clarification on this matter from the Chinese and Asian Products Manager of Warner Music Malaysia (Mr Gong Ji-Sheng), he shared openly that the possibility of SS501 meeting with the local fans on 3rd September is very high.

However, Warner Music Malaysia had received the notice just before the public holiday, they will have to wait till Tuesday when the government officials resume work before they can lodge in the necessary permit and application. Mr Gong revealed that if everything goes on smoothly, then Warner will hold a public event for SS501.

AB F/W catalog

slept at 5+ this morning and woke up at 2pm, hehe! even before i got out of bed, i was reaching for my iTouch and going online. was eager to see if there's any comments, replies or any reaction at all from my previous posting.

i guess as much as i had wanted to bare all and to finally voice out my thoughts, there's still a part of me that's hesitant and unsure about things. i mean, i'm speaking out against people whom i actually know personally.

but hey, like i'd said earlier, i've nothing against anyone personally, and in fact, i do like them and get along with them. it's just that we seem to hold a different view when it comes to this fanclub 'management' part... to me, it only makes sense to carry on being part of the 'management' if you're still a fan and an avid one. and only if you've the time and are willing to spend the time to manage the club.

but.... hmmm... nothing. no email, no text messages, no comments, no replies to that posting of mine. then again, it's sunday, and things are usually slower on sundays, maybe people haven't read it yet. or maybe people don't want to get involved and don't want to share their thoughts. or maybe people think i'm being that 'yaya princess' again, preaching and telling people what to do. (*bb: but just for the record, i'm not hor, am not telling people what to do. am just thinking out loud and expressing my own thoughts in my own blog.)

for now, will just repost pics that our dear style has kindly shared on byjgallery. seems like some lucky fans have gotten their lucky hands on the latest AB catalog! and... hee, despite me saying AB pics ain't my fave-fave, i still want one to call my own!!

does anyone know if the AB stores give out these catalogs quite freely? or does one have to make a certain minimum purchase in order to get one?

you know, the way i feel towards wuri yong joon and the way i feel towards leader are completely different.

with yong joon, i guess it's been a long, long, long time. i came to know about him and came to know him back in 2002, and it's now 2009!! whoa, we're talking about some eight years here. even some relationships don't last this long, and here i am, talking about something so one-sided that he doesn't even know i exist.

but coz i've been a fan this long, he's sorta become a part of my life. he comes very naturally to me. i can associate the littlest thing to him, and can do so very very naturally too.

with leader, it's still not a way of life yet. i still need very specific things that's obviously related to leader or the boys in order for thoughts about leader to trigger off in my mind. and i often wonder if leader would ever become what wuri yong joon is to me.

and... hehe, i've also come to realise that it really ain't easy to be a fan of more than one star!! especially if you have a day job, if you keep a fairly updated blog, and you're also part of the committee for the fanclub! gosh so busy so busy so busy!! i really should have just stuck to one!

of course, you could say i can choose not to read everything about the man and the boy/s on a daily basis. yea, i know, but it's hard, isn't it? just like how some of you HAVE TO pop by my blog everyday, i also have 'places' like this that i just HAVE TO check out everyday, hehe ! (*bb: thank god for bloglines!)

anyway, wuri yong joon's birthday is 29 august. for quite many years now, 8.29 has meant something special to me. and hee, sometimes even when the computer clock or whatever digital clock shows 8:29, i will even smile a slight smile to myself.

and you guys know that i'm part of the team that created the SgTripleS forum, ya? yea, i could not stand the awful black site they used to have, so in july, i sorta 'spearheaded' the idea of abandoning the old site that's so NOT user-friendly, and to do up a proper forum instead. the forum went live on 1st aug, and we opened to the public for registration on 5th or 6th aug.

when we hit 829 members a couple of days ago, i remember looking at the 829 number at the bottom of the SS501 forum homepage and thinking about.... wuri yong joon, haha!

oh dear... it's so late and i was just gonna be putting up some pics, but i just rattled on and on and on, yea, the usual princess bb style, wakaka!

joonsfamily has been soooooo... inactive that i sometimes wonder if it's meaningful to even keep the fanclub. granted, wuri yong joon is quite possibly one of the least active actors on the surface of this earth, it doesn't mean that the fanclub has to be so. in fact, i personally feel that the reverse ought to be true. if the actor is THIS low profile and if his works are THIS far and in between, then all the more important his fanclub is.

during lull periods like this, the fanclub should still be keeping its fansite or forum alive, and it should still be trying to think of some activities to hold the members' interest, and perhaps to remind them why they've become this besotted with wuri yong joon in the first place.

during lull periods like this, a good fanclub will be reposting the old-but-good news and postings of the actor, a good fanclub will be sharing old (excellent) postings or artwork by fans, a good fanclub will be thinking of meaningful gatherings to huddle the fans together, etc.

worse is when the key members of the fanclub lose interest in the actor themselves, and stop being fans. without passion and without any remaining adoration and admiration for the actor, why would they be willing to spend their time and energy to do things for the actor, for the fanclub?

i say this NOT because i want to be part of the committee, i say this because i'm tired of hearing how a few people are constantly complaining about the amount of work involved, the amount of time involved whenever they have to work on things for the fanclub.

if you're not longer interested, and if you're no longer a fan, and if you're no longer willing to put up time and energy to do things for the actor, for the fanclub, and for the fans, then do yourself and others a favour, leave the post of a committee member (CM). let someone else who's willing to put in the time and effort take that role, and everyone will possibly be happier. and you, you can always participate in the fanclub activities as an ordinary member.

there, i (finally) said those words out.

i've been THINKING those words for quite a couple of years already, but coz i just didn't want to rock the boat, and neither did i want others to misunderstand that i'm eying the CM position, i kept quiet all this time. and of course, coz i'm actually friends with practically all of them, and i do genuinely like them very much... so it just didn't feel quite right to be speaking out about these things...

i know, i was the one of the few who had pushed for the gathering to happen. and i know there would be those amongst the CMs who thought i was being a busybody and quite possibly, overstepping my so-called boundary. and perhaps some might also think yea, it's easy for YOU to say, coz YOU don't have to do the work...

but my thoughts are this... if the fanclub doesn't even hold a gathering a year, then what do we want the fanclub for?

already, the fanclub's website is not interesting and hardly current. and already, the fanclub doesn't help do bulk order for any BOFi or BYJ merchandise for a long time now (whilst quite a few other BYJ sites outside of singapore) would organize such things. so, seriously, if we don't even hold an annual gathering (be it to celebrate our own fanclub's anniversary, or to celebrate wuri yong joon's birthday), then we might as well just close the fanclub.

so yay, the once-a-year gathering happened today! in the past, we sometimes had it in may, that's joonsfamily's anniversary month. like last year, we had it in may. click here and here to read about last year's may gathering.

anyway, this year's joonsfamily gathering was held on 29th aug!!

of course, i'd gone! but i wasn't able to turn up early to help out. arrival of members and registration was from 1pm to 1:30pm.

i'd reached the venue (union square, which is a wine bar next to amara hotel) at slightly past 1pm... hehe, the gals stuck on these paper strips around our wrists at the reception/registration table, just like going to a club! (or... some say it reminds of those hospital patients.... haha!)


to be honest, it was a rather uneventful gathering, and very little thought seemed to have gone into the planning of the event. it was one of those events that's got 'more form than substance'....

the venue, the food's okay today. but the activities were, errr... not so exciting, i thought. one thing that i've always is missing from all the joonsfamily gathering is the two-way flow. it's always the key team talking or presenting something, but there's very little airtime for the members, and there's usually no preparation or thoughts about how to get the members to interact more and get to know one another more.

to me, the same old members will always stick with the same old people. when i go home from every gathering year after year, i'd realise that i'd just spent the afternoon with the same people as i did last year. and the same people whose names i didn't know last year, i still don't know this year.

i guess at the end of the day, since i don't run the club, maybe i'm in no position to judge at all. coz i've no idea what other people's constraints are. but i still would like to share how i feel from a member's perspective.

anyway, let's just share some pics.

you guys know i quite adore the wondergirls? as cheesy and even abit 'ah-lian' as they are, i like tell me, so hot, nobody...

ya, ya!!! nobody!! remember how utterly adorable leader was doing the nobody dance?!!!

joonsfamily actually prepared the MV and also arranged for someone to drop by our gathering to... yea, teach us a few nobody moves!! the gal on the right on the pic was that someone who'd dropped by, and the one on the left's ros who had very sportingly gone up front to demonstrate for the members, together with julia!

(*bb: sorry, i couldn't get any nice, non-blurry shots of julia up front...)


oh boy, ros looks like the teacher, and the gal the student, instead of the other way around!



incidentally, i'd just sidetrack alittle. i've always thought ros' a very attractive gal who's got a nice, sparkly personality... me like her actually... and oh, btw she sings very well!


now i was kindda abit hesitant initially... would the joonsfamily members actually get their butts off the chairs and try the nobody dance?!

but whoa!!! the response from the floor was quite enthusiastic! must say most were very sporting and very interested to learn how to sway and shake and do lotsa lotsa hip actions!

(*bb: hee, tiff and jes sure look like they're enjoying every minute of it!)


ah... this must be the chorus portion, where you're supposed to clap and point when the wondergirls sang 'nobody but you!'


hehe, i like this part too! our young-gal-instructor said we're to put up both hands, and the hands weren't supposed to move whilst you sway your hips. i like this part coz it's really nice and sultry if done well!

see how almost everyone stood up to try the nobody dance?! nice! thanks, peeps!


lucky draw again....! hmm... i didn't win again! just as well, since i noticed i already have most, if not all, the stuff that they're giving away as lucky draw prizes. in fact when i ran down the list of their lucky draw prizes, i thought the prizes, although good, were abit 'old'... bascially most of the prizes were from TWSSG and earlier.

so i decided to also contribute. can't say they're mine-mine, since i'd received with much love from a korean fan-friend. (*bb: i know you visit my blog, so thank you!)

i'd donated two large The FaceShop paper carriers, two TheFaceShop Natural Story winter '08/09 issue, two TheFaceShop Natural Story spring '09 issues, and also two copies of the AB first spring collection travel catalog.

wonder who got the prizes i'd contributed... but i do know that kelly got the TFS carrier and also the AB catalog, for which she was really really really happy about, coz it seems like she's been dying to get her hands on 'em!

(*bb: hee, actually i'd set aside a set for her at home already..!!)


and oh, it's also a joonsfamily tradition to get BOF to prepare an autographed pic from wuri yong joon for our anniversary party every year. oh man, the BOF office had taken over a month just to get the photo out to us! and wah, it was soooooo.... close too! tiff only managed to receive it via courier at 12 noon today!! talk about the eleventh hour, haha!

but am incredibly happy we got it. and it's one of my fave-fave pics from the recent lots of pics too! a few of us took pics with the pic, but it wasn't my camera, so i can't load it up to share with you. hehe, i can't wait to see how the pics turned out. but just in case you're curious, it's actually the pic on the screen behind us in the pics below.

and oh, taking pics with fellow fans, julia and ros! yea, jules and i were having tiger beer...! nice, very nice! (*bb: yea, yea, the princess does love her drink!)



somehow i wasn't in that much of a blogger-mood today, so i didn't take many pics. and for whatever pics i did take, i wasn't really focusing on getting the best-possible pics. i had initially NOT wanted to blog about it,and NOT wanted to put up any pics at all.

but hehe, i guess i do have blogger blood in me...

here's the cake. yea, they chose one of the ABs. if it were up to me, i would have gone for one of those from cosmopolitan... i kindda prefer that series, ya, same series as the autographed pic he's give us for this year.

see how 'not-focused' i was to take a pic of the cake? didn't even bother to ensure that the hands holding the cellphones were out of the pic! but, hehe, i know i can rely on kelly to take great pics of all the important stuff during the gathering.


all things said, i still want to thank the ladies at joonsfamily for everything that they've done in the past for wuri yong joon, for the fanclub, and for bae fans in general.

i hope they and also no one will read me the wrong way. it's not that i'm not appreciative of all that they've done, i'm just pointing out a perfectly 'normal' phenomenon of how fans can stop being fans, and stop liking an actor...

and when that happens, the fan may not be as willing to spend time to do things for the actor anymore, so this could be the time for the fan to reflect and review, and to ask if it's time to step down.

that's all i'm wondering and rambling in this post, k?

anyway, it's almost 5am now. i'd better go sleep, nitez!

WLS anime & some new pics

ah.... so this was the 1st oct event one of my bae-unnis was talking to me about...!

well, i did say i got home after 4am last night, so i really didn't have time to surf much. hehe, especially since joonsfamily had a special gathering this afternoon, so i was practically rushing out when i got out of bed...


not sure if i'd blogged about it, but i definitely remember reading about it. DA (digital adventure), which is the company that had merged with BOFi in japan, has announced about starting their own DA TV sometime back. so it looks like wuri yong joon will be there to grace the 'opening' of the TV station on 1st oct. will share more about this in a later post, k?

now i wanna talk about WLS anime first. with the anime going to start is run this fall, DA has started to release more and more info and trailers to create awareness and stir up interest for the anime. on 20th august, DA had released this, have you watched it?

BYJ is having a press meeting (출판기념회* ) at the lecture hall of Yongsan National Museum.

BOF released a notice that "On September 22th, BYJ is having a press meeting in celebration of the publication of his book, The Beauty of Korea."

The Beauty of Korea is the title of a photo-essay book that BYJ has prepared since last year.

For this book, BYJ traveled all over the country to photograph national treasures and to meet speciaIists of art. He made kimchi by himself, and learned ceramic art. He even visited laquer museum in Iwate county, Japan, and learned lacquer work from Mr Jeon Yong Bok.

This book is going to be published in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and English version.
BYJ is planning to hold an event in Japan, on Sep 29th for the animation Winter Sonata, and on Sep 30th for the celebration of the publication of his book.


* gaulsan explained that 출판기념회 is usually a small party held by the writer and the publishing company to celebrate the publication of a book. It is sometimes held in a form of press meeting. I translated it as press meeting because I've read somewhere - several weeks ago - that it will be held in form of a press meeting.


and... i've gotta say i'm really really really really really getting tired of wuri yong joon's long hair. and i can't say i like how he looks in the recent AB pics and also when he showed up at yang's wedding.

but... these pics changed my mind about the hair again! i guess it's the entire look that accompanies the hair that i mind, and not so much the length of the hair per se. in these pics below, he's looking quite stylish, manly and natural too!

p.s. as i've said many many times, even if i'm too busy to blog everyday, or even if i don't reply to each and every comment here or in the tagboard, rest assured that i read 'em all.

and yea, i've read those comments about how wuri yong joon's looking different. today, someone asked me what i think. well, i think he didn't do anything to his face, and i believe people can look very different when they lose or gain weight, or it could be age, it could be the entire image and dressing, or sometimes it may be just changes in one's life that may alter how one looks.

but i also think this is probably something we may not find a firm answer to at all, so why bother to even bring it up or discuss about it?

so, whoever that person is who is leaving those highly speculative comments on my blog, let it be known that it's a subject that bores me to death. so what if he did, and so what if he didn't?

legend to be made into movie

Legend to be remade for movie audiences


Kind of. The Yonsama-led (Bae Yong-joon) 2007 drama Legend [태왕사신기] will be getting a newly edited version to be released in Japanese cinemas.

This New Edition will be cut into four movie-length parts and given a theatrical run. If each movie is approximately two hours long, the total eight hours will yield a condensed version of the drama’s 24 original episodes. The new edition will be arranged into the following four themes (and possible titles): Thousand-year Love, Crossed Fates, Omens of Farewell, and Impossible Love.

The first will be released next spring, and tickets will begin to go on sale this fall (this fall?!).

As we know, the Japanese love Yonsama, and the fusion historical-fantasy Legend did well both in Korea and in Japan, so perhaps there’s still interest in this kind of project. I think it’s a great idea in theory, and perhaps it’s more commercially viable than I’m thinking. Legend has actually been screened in theaters before, back in 2007, and the 12 two-hour segments showed all 24 of the drama’s episodes. It was reportedly fairly popular.

A New Edition may actually turn out something quite interesting, because editing is a powerful tool and I’d be keen on watching a version of Legend with a tighter story and shorter running time.

It is because of you - the family's sincere wishes, that we had been able to complete our wedding ceremony happily and with everyone's well wishes.

The family has given us warm support and love for our wedding, and we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The wishes we've received from the family will become a strong motivating power in our married lives from now on. Once again, I want to express how much I thank you for your love.

Come autumn, the book into which BYJ has poured so much of his heart and time over such a long period of time will be published, and other activities, let's just wait for more news on him.

BYJ has always bore on his heart the family's care, concern and expectations. At the same time, the entire BOF team including myself, will continue to work even harder in order to make the family happier.

The breeze has been blowing both in the morning and the night, we can anticipate the arrival of fall. Hope that you will not succumb to the heat of the day; do lead an energetic lifestyle everyday as you're looking forward to a fruitful autumn.

lest you think i no longer think of or care about wuri yong joon, i do i do i do!

so... even though AB pics have never ever made it to my list of faves, am still gonna post 'em. but gotta say this series is at least a teeny weeny bit better than those in the past. at least he's looking more natural and less pose-y, and the clothes, although still not sharp enough, are at least not as ajusshi!
