[KHJ] when fans gather...

haha, i know how contradictory i appear to be. just ten minutes ago, i was blogging about reducing the leader-exposure here, and here i am, still on the leader topic. keke, but though this post is related to leader, it ain't really a leader-leader post, k?

just wanna keep you updated about what i've been up to.

other than the personal projects (there's one more project that's under wraps now, not ready to share yet, sorry!), i've also been busy over the weekend. coz it's the SG TripleS fanclub's 200-day anniversary gathering!!

yea, following the rather successful first official fan gathering back on 22nd aug, the fanclub had organized its second fan gathering last sunday, on 22nd(!) nov.

i've sorted out the pics that i'd taken during the session and posted them on the forum. that section is restricted to fanclub members only, so sorry if you can't see it. but if you're a member, click here to check out the pics and the fans' sharing.

i know i've said to respect everyone's privacy and all, and have also made requests and appeals to fellow fans not to post fellow fans' pics all over the place. but hee, me gonna eat my own words here. haha, no choice lah, feeling abit hungry...!! am gonna put up some, just SOME, pics from sunday's gathering. won't put up the entire pics, instead will only put up the collages and i've also reduced the resolution so that the faces don't come up too clearly.

what i wanted to share is that the gathering was a blast! i had loads of fun, and from the faces of the peeps in the pics, i dare say the rest of the green peas agree with me.

the first pic's a collage of pics taken at various points during sunday's session.

here, you can see fellow members taking turns to stand up for their little self-introduction. like many others, i absolutely love the collective 'Ahhhh...' or 'Orh...' coming from everyone whenever someone's ID is a very active one and everyone recognizes it. it's fun! i love having a face put to the IDs!

but but but... it does get confusing when instead of just one ID, we have to remember the ID and also match it with their real names!

see the happy faces? am sure you can tell how much fun we had!

omo! we even had a dancer amongst us!

not sure if you're aware, but the SG TripleS fanclub has been organizing sessions for members to learn fan chants to the boys' songs. and during the last session, one of the members cin did a little dance performance. so, this time around, we didn't 'let her off' until she showed us her sleek moves.

and we all just lapped it all up!

and what was the most fun and rather surprising (to me, at least) was how the fans shouted out the fan chants in such loud, strong and clear voices! now i can almost imagine what fun it would be when the boys are actually here!

hope no one's upset that i've put up the pics here. if you are, you know how to find me, ya?

moving on... i think before the fans 'surface' and start to attend fan sessions and gatherings, most harbour some fear about meeting fellow fans for the first time. that's perfectly normal and completely understandable.

probably even 'scarier' for us noona fans... coz if we're going to a fan gathering for the first time, we would be worrying about whether we would be the oldest, whether everyone else would be teenyboppers and wondering why on earth an ajumma would be so besotted with five young boys, and they would be worrying about fitting in, how to behave.

yea, we would probably be worrying about what on earth to wear too! too matured, no good. too young might look like we're trying too hard. then how? it's like there's no way to win.

it already takes much consideration and plenty of courage just to say 'yes' to attend the gathering. then the days from saying 'yes' to the actual day of the event.... oh man, real torture!!

i assure you all noona fans will be torn between wanting to cancel and then thinking, what the heck, it's just a gathering. the pendulum of emotions and feelings.... hmmm, no fun at all.

come the actual day, even if you've settled on what to wear, you will be faced with yet another 'critical' decision. do you arrive early so that you can try to get to know at least a few people first? or do you step in right on time so that there's no awkward waiting period? or do you arrive fashionably late so that you can just slip in when things are already in full swing?

haha, how come attending a fan gathering can get this complicated leh? the princess thinks it's because we're stepping into new, unknown territories and the uncertainty breeds the butterflies in our tummies lor.

but once you've gotten over that, you'll be all right. i promise you.

there really are all sorts in the fanclub, in terms of age group, personalities, work areas, etc. if you would allow yourself that chance to just stay long enough to get to know some of them, you will realise that fellow fans are actually normal people too. no one is judging anyone, really.

whilst you may not find your soulmate or your BFF in a fanclub, but i dare say you will be able to find at least one or two new friends who will soon mean more than just fellow fans to you.

after all, what binds two people together more quickly than a common love or interest...? and the 'development' of the friendship can be 'accelerated' by attending fan sessions together, by traveling overseas to attend the boys' concerts together.

give yourself a chance to experience something new, to get to know someone new. no easier way than to join a fanclub and surface. get to know other people, and let other people get to know you too.

remember, a smile and an open personality can really greatly enhance an already-beautiful face.

for myself, i've 'picked up' some new friends too at the boys' fanclub.... like them..!!

and hee, like emz, am incredibly surprised at how much time i'm already spending with a few of them despite the relatively short period of time i've known them.

like emz, i'm also a teeny weeny bit worried about how spending more time together as we work on stuff and all may lead to further revelation of our personalities. what if we don't see eye to eye on things?

i mean, we all know it's one thing to just be hi-bye friends, and another to be friends who actually eat-and-play-together. and... it's another matter altogether to be friends who eat and play together, and on top of that, work on projects together....

i hope things will work out OK. there will always be conflicts and disagreements, i guess. after all, everyone's different, that's what makes everyone special and unique, ya? but we have to consciously remind ourselves that diversity can lead to better, greater things. if everyone in a group thinks in the same way, then we're in danger of this thing called 'groupthink'. that's unhealthy, ya?

but but but, the princess is a blood type B, and people say we're the poorest team players ever. uh-oh...!!

i guess being honest with our own feelings and with one another, being willing to communicate (and a large part of that is listening), keeping an open mind, and being able to work out differences without getting personal are critical factors to being able to work in a group.

let's hope with all these in mind, we will be able to iron out our differences and spin some magic on our shiny project.
