Sales of “Learn Korean with Bae Yong Joon DS”
to begin September 19
- Presales of approximately 16,000 - big hit in Japan
The Asian cultural content company Keyeast Co., Ltd. announced that it will begin selling Learn Korean with Bae Yong Joon DS on September 19.
Keyeast and the mobile content company Mobilero together developed Learn Korean with Bae Yong Joon DS, which is a Nintendo game designed to allow for quick and easy study of the Korean language with the use of the image of Bae Yong Joon.
Within 3 weeks of the start of the acceptance of presale orders and notwithstanding the absence of any marketing activities, approximately 16,000 games were sold, illustrating the huge interest in Japan for this product. After the sale of the beginner level game in September, the intermediate and advanced games will also be made available for sale.
A spokesperson for Keyeast stated that “We have high expectations for this product as it combines the popularity of the Nintendo DS system, which many Japanese women over 30 regard as a necessary item and which has already been purchased by over 22,000,000 Japanese consumers, and the cultural power of Bae Yong Joon, which has been the driving force behind a desire to study the Korean language in the Americas, Egypt, and Turkey.”
The launching event for Learn Korean with Bae Yong Joon DS on July 28 at the Ebis Garden Hall in Tokyo attracted over 100 Japanese influential media enterprises and developers and distributors of content and games.
- Price of the product (including VAT): 7,410 yen (limited edition) / 5,040 yen (regular edition)

These new calendar pics are horrible. Sorry, there ain't no other way to put it.
I can't even begin to imagine how so-called professional stylists and photographers let this happen. And BYJ himself--does he really think this is his BEST?
